This project will upgrade the existing Hugs Infant Security at Jacobs Medical Center (Floors 8, 9, 10, Roof level (equipment rooms) and 9 elevators), including installation of new hardware, software, cabling, controllers/exciters, gateways, tags and chargers, Lenel integration, go-live support, and the removal of the existing system, associated cabling, and hardware. Project includes installation of new traveler cables in 9 elevators and the integration of the new Hugs System into the Elevator System. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in the installation of infant security systems and low voltage structured cabling systems within an operational facility. Specific experience requirements include: work within a hospital with limited staging area, work within an operational facility, renovations/upgrades to existing outdated space. The estimated construction duration is approximately 6 months. The prequalified Contractors will competitively bid for a lump-sum contract. Estimated Construction Cost: $800,000. Contractors must submit electronically one complete prequalification questionnaire in PDF format. All information requested in these forms must be provided in order to be considered responsive to the requirements of the prequalification. Pre-qualification requirements: LICENSE B - GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR. The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $2,000,000 over the last five years. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three comparable projects as General Contractor within the last ten years, with construction challenges including work within a fully functional acute care healthcare facility, stringent Infection Control requirements, and the flexibility to perform work during weekends or off hours as needed, depending on the areas of the Hospital being impacted.
