Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and road / highway.
Removal of an existing gravel roadway and the extension of PCC roadway and sidewalk, traffic circle, ADA improvements, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and grading, located on the western side of Iowa City off Camp Cardinal Boulevard. All work is to be done in strict compliance with the Project Manual. Each proposal must be completed on a City-furnished form and submitted in a sealed envelope. A separate sealed envelope must contain a completed Bidder Status Form and a bid security equal to 10% of the bid, payable to the Treasurer of the City of Iowa City. Successful bidders must furnish a Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond for 100% of the contract price, guaranteeing the payment of all materials and labor, protecting and saving harmless the City, and guaranteeing maintenance for five years from completion and acceptance. Bidders must list intended subcontractors, including type of work and approximate subcontract amounts, and the awarded contractor must list subcontractors, quantities, unit prices, and extended dollar amounts. Preference must be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, as required by law. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive technicalities and irregularities. Proposals will be acted upon by the City Council at a meeting to be held in the Emma J. Harvat Hall at 6:00 P.M. on the 19 th day of May, 2026, or at special meeting called for that purpose.
