Renovation of an educational facility in Silverdale, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The work comprises the replacement of water-source heat pumps at Klahowya Secondary School, including removal of 62 water-source heat pump units. Most units will be replaced in kind. The scope of work is broken down as follows: 1. Mechanical Attic Heat Pump Replacements (42 units): Replace with like-for-like units. 2. Mechanical Mezzanine Heat Pump Replacements (11 units): a. Replace 6 water-source heat pump air handlers in kind. Provide an access panel in the corridor for removal and future maintenance access. b. Replace 5 water-source heat pump split system units with new air handling units and an outdoor VRF system. 3. Administrative Office Heat Pump Units (8 units): Replace 8 suspended horizontal water-source heat pump units. Provide complete replacement of ACT ceilings in the Administrative Offices. Reinstall ceiling-mounted devices in the new ceiling. 4. Back-of-house Heat Pump Replacement (1 unit): Replace in kind and provide an access panel in the corridor for removal and future maintenance access. Bid alternates include the relocation and replacement of electrical transformers in the Mechanical Attic to more accessible locations. Instructions to bidders include submitting sealed bids, required subcontractor work listings, and structural steel & rebar installation work listings at specified times. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond not less than five percent of the bid. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond. Compliance with Washington State and Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wages is required. At least fifteen percent of labor hours must be performed by apprentices unless otherwise permitted by law. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor irregularities, and accept the bid deemed best. Minority-owned and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids. All work must comply with the requirements set out in the project manuals, drawings, and any issued addenda. Question Deadline 05/12/2026
