The work consists of East Chicago Central High School Gymnasium Entrance Improvements. The work must be performed according to the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Hutton & Hutton Architects & Engineers. Instructions to bidders include the following: - Each project must be submitted in a separate sealed bid clearly endorsed with the subject line information, including the name and address of the bidder. - A Bid Guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the aggregate amount of the base bid is required. Bidders from outside Indiana must submit a certified check or bid bond from a surety with a principal place of business in Indiana. Indiana-based bidders may submit a certified or cashier's check or a bid bond attached to Bid Form No. 96, executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety company, payable to the Owner. - The successful bidder must furnish Performance, Labor, and Material Payment Bonds in amounts equal to 100% of the contract sum with an approved surety company. - The School Board reserves the right to award all or individual projects within the scope of work to comply with available funds. - State Board of Accounts - Contractor's Bid for Public Work Form 96 (Revised 2013) must be used. - Each bidder must ensure non-discrimination in employment practices and comply with the antidiscrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6. An Affirmative Action Statement is required at the time of bid. - A list of proposed subcontractors and suppliers must be submitted with the bid, with modifications allowed within forty-eight (48) hours of the bid opening. - Plans and Specifications are available at the Architect's office, and may be requested electronically. - All questions must be directed to the designated architect contact, with no solicitation of board members or other personnel. - The School Board reserves the right to hold all bids for sixty (60) days, reject any or all bids, or waive informalities or technicalities. Conditional bids will not be accepted.
