Brookfield Zoo Chicago is seeking qualifications from experienced and qualified General Contractor professionals for the renovation of the North Parking Lot (approximately 30 acres) and the Discovery Parking Lot (approximately 4.5 acres). The work will address deteriorating paving areas that support the Zoo’s large visitor base. The selected firm will provide comprehensive general contracting services within an active campus, with preference for firms with experience in public or nonprofit projects and strong safety, environmental stewardship, and quality assurance practices. Each lot will have its own separate contract for scope of work. Brookfield Zoo Discovery Parking Lot: - Full milling and resurfacing within the property lines - Restriping - Installation of additional parking signage - Site lighting, including new lamps, select new light poles, and associated overhead wiring - Addition of one sidewalk ramp and curb to access relocated ADA stalls Brookfield Zoo North Parking Lot: - Work is confined within the property, not in the right-of-way - Full milling and resurfacing, completed in two phases (some work may occur after zoo hours) - Full restriping of parking spaces - Installation of additional parking signage - Perimeter landscape improvements (plantings, fence replacement) - Site lighting: lamp replacement using existing poles, conduit, and wiring - Installation of new sidewalk to serve ADA stalls Question Deadline 06/09/2026 at 3:00 PM CT Deadline for submitting questions regarding the RFQ.
