Repair services are required for overdoor alarm systems and associated components within an acute mental health inpatient unit. Work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to remove and replace two solid core wood doors, install electrified hinges, astragals, kick plates, and proprietary Door Switch overdoor alarm systems. The contractor shall rewire and remount alarm components in accordance with manufacturer requirements, provide new OEM parts, and perform programming of the proprietary control systems. Tasks also include conducting infection control measures, installing protective barriers, coordinating lockout/tagout procedures, safeguarding existing equipment, and ensuring compliance with VHA Mental Health Design Guides. The contractor shall perform complete acceptance testing witnessed by facility representatives and provide detailed service reports documenting work performed, parts replaced, and labor hours. All work must be coordinated with facility staff, executed during regular business hours, and performed in a manner that ensures safety, security, and minimal disruption in an occupied healthcare environment.
