The Project consists generally of installing log structures and rootwads in streambanks, installation of Beaver Dam Analogues, bank laybacks, side-channel recreation, log and rootwad harvest, sediment prevention and erosion control activities, general grading and clearing of site, dewatering, and fish salvage activities. A complete Scope of Work is provided in this Invitation to Bid (ITB). RFIs shall originate with Contractor. Owner's Authorized Representative will return RFIs submitted to Owner's Authorized Representative by other entities controlled by Contractor with no response SCOPE OF WORK. The Project is located on Conyers Creek, spanning the following tax lots: 7418-00-01601, 7418-00-01602, 7418-00-01604, 7418-00-01606. GPS Coordinates : 46.0884N, - 123.2185W. As determined by the project engineer, the majority of the work will take place below the Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) of Conyers Creek. Work outside of OHWM will primarily involve log and rootwad harvest, sediment prevention measures, access, staging, disposal , grading and seeding. The scope of work generally includes the following elements: 1 ) Log and rootwad harvest and staging; 2) Bank laybacks ; 3) Installation of large wood structures and rootwads in streambanks; 4) Excavation and reconnection of historic side channels; 5) Installation of Beaver Dam Analogue posts; 6) Placement and staking of logs in floodplain; 7) Implementation of sediment prevention plan and erosion control measures; 8) Disposal of spoils in designated locations on site; and 9) Grading and seeding of disturbed areas. Bonds: 10% Bid Bond. The following summary should be used for information only. All work shall be done according to the contract documents: 1. Conduct onsite harvest of log and rootwad material and cut logs to specified dimensions; 2. Stage logs and rootwads for installation, according to designs; 3. Grade and backfill holes created by rootwad harvest; 4. Coordinate with CSWCD and Engineer on plan for work site isolation; 5. Conduct fish salvage; coordinate with SWCD to submit all documentation and conduct all reporting necessary to obtain authorization for ODFW fish salvage/rescue and NOAA Incidental Take Permit; 6. Implement erosion and sedimentation best management practices (BMPs) as outlined in designs and as approved by Engineer prior to work commencing and for duration of project; 7. Oversee and manage dewatering and water diversion throughout duration of project according to BMPs; 8. Conduct bank laybacks/ install log structures and rootwads according to designs; 9. Excavate side channels to specified elevations and construct side channel banks according to designs; 10. Install log structures and rootwads into alcoves, according to designs; 11. Install Beaver Dam Analogue posts according to designs; 12. Dispose and spread native soil and material in approved onsite disposal locations; 13. Grade all areas disturbed during construction back to natural contours and seed; 14. Cover bare earth/disturbed soils with weed free straw or hay and seed with approved seed mixes; 15. Clean up work area and remove all excess materials and refuse. Except as otherwise specified, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, implements, machinery, supplies, materials and incidentals, and shall do all things necessary to perform and complete the Project. In addition to the work specifically called for in the designs, this shall include such additional and extra work as CSWCD Representative deems necessary for completion of the Project.
