Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Kingston, Pennsylvania. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; and service station / car wash facility.
The authority board on Tuesday approved a resolution that authorizes taking the property, off South Pennsylvania Avenue, from its owner, listed as Siniawa 16 L.P., through a land condemnation action to be filed in Luzerne County court. The authority board voted in March to enter into negotiations with Siniawa to buy the 11.6-acre site, which the authority had eyed for years as a potential new headquarters to consolidate its operations. The authority's plans include the construction of a fueling station for its buses that run on compressed natural gas. As of July 30, 2019, this project is in the planning phase. Architect/Engineer information has not been disclosed. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated construction will not start prior to June 2020. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
