This Contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, which provides that training, employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Borough of East Greenville, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to 10% of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each Bid. The successful Contractor will be required to provide clear criminal background checks for all workers who will be on site. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Prior to awarding the contract, bids may be held by the Borough of East Greenville for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date of bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders. The Borough of East Greenville reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding when, in the opinion of the Borough, such rejections or waivers shall be to its interest or advantage.
