Remodeling and renovation of a mixed-use development in Racine, Wisconsin. Working plans call for the remodel of a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of October 16, 2024, a construction manager has been selected and this project is in the pre-construction/negotiated phase. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 and finish in 2027. Bond fund $598 million of work over 30 years The referendum would provide the funding needed to make the following improvements at Gilmore: SAFETY & SECURITY: • Update for ADA-compliant access • Install additional security cameras and emergency backup generator K-8 LEARNING SPACES: • Refresh Middle School classrooms and Performing Arts wing • Renovate three Science rooms • Update auditorium seating and lighting, as well as gym sound system • Repurpose locker rooms to serve as parent room, fitness area and gym storage INFRASTRUCTURE: • Renovate remaining bathrooms • Refresh building interiors (LED lighting, flooring, ceilings, casework, paint walls) • Address building maintenance (doors, windows, plumbing, HVAC updates, exterior masonry and concrete, retro-commissioning, site drainage) The 2020 bond referendum was passed and approved by the voters on April 7, 2020.
