General Project Description: This project consists of furnishing all work necessary for the completion of milling and hot mix asphalt overlay, along with necessary incidentals, on various streets in the Town of Normal, Illinois. The proposed improvement consists of the following approximate quantities: 24,366 SY Hot-Mix Asphalt Surface Removal; 16,500 pounds Bituminous Materials (Tack Coat); 7,700 feet Longitudinal Joint Sealant; 916 tons Polymerized HMA Binder Course, IL-4.75, N50; 211 tons HMA Binder Course, IL-9.5FG, N50; 2,047 tons HMA Surface Course, Mix C, N50; 1,200 feet Combination Concrete Curb and Gutter, Removal and Replacement, Special; adjustment or replacement of 56 water and sewer structures; 8,400 feet Short-term Pavement Markings - Paint; 2,100 feet Short-term Pavement Markings - Tape; 700 feet Paint Pavement Marking - Line 6"; 250 feet Paint Pavement Marking - Line 24"; and all other necessary items and incidentals required to complete this project according to the plans and specifications. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids received. The bid award will be made by the Town Council, and the decision of the Council will be final. Milling and resurfacing, including necessary incidentals If a Bidder finds a discrepancy or omission in the Bid Documents, or is in doubt as to the meaning of any requirement or term, the Bidder must notify the Town at least five business days prior to the Bid Deadline. The failure of the Bidder to request clarification prior to submitting the bid waives the Bidder sright to claim any ambiguity or discrepancy in the documents. (b) All inquiries will be addressed either through a pre-bid conference or through an addendum. Town officials or employees are prohibited from discussing this bid except at the pre-bid conference. No discussions or answers other than through the pre-bid conference or through an addendum are binding on the Town
