Township will receive bids for the following goods or services: SOLID WASTE MATERIALS COLLECTION, HAULING AND DISPOSAL SERVICES at the Alexandria Township Department of Public Works (DPW) Garage located at 255 Hickory Corner Road, Milford, N.J. 08848. Bids are sought for the provision of the following goods and services as more particularly described in the bid package and, generally, below: Provision of dumpsters for, and the collection, hauling and disposal of type 13 bulky waste and light metals. Bidder shall provide, remove, and replace up to three (3) containers- 30 yards each, on a monthly basis for type 13 bulky waste and one (1) container-30 yards for light metals and when full will be notified by the DPW Foreman that it is needed to be picked up (typically on a monthly basis). Collection shall occur only after Contractor is notified by the Township DPW Foreman for a pick-up. The Township uses an average of four (4) containers a month. Three (3) containers for Type 13 Bulky Waste One (1) container for Light Metals Hours of operation at the DPW Garage are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dumpster Day is the 3rd Saturday, 12 times a year. During the term of the contract, Contractor shall leave a minimum of one (1 ) 30-yard container on site, at all times. It shall not be necessary for the Township to level off the top of the contents of containers before they are removed and the contractor shall remove a container even if overtopped when the contractor arrives, provided the container can be covered by the contractor and moved over the road without spillage. A container's contents may be compacted by the Township prior to being removed. At the time Contractor arrives to pick-up, haul and dispose of the contents, Contractor shall furnish at the garage premises or other Township-designated site a replacement container of the same character for the reception of refuse. The contract shall be made for one year commencing 10 days after formal acceptance and award by the Township Committee. At the end of the one-year term, the Township may extend this contract for one or more-year periods, up to an additional three years. The Towns Bids submitted shall be considered firm for a period of 60 days from bid opening. All bids shall be expressed as an amount based on a cost to the Township per ton of material in the container removed and shall include the cost of the container(s) and the collection, hauling and disposal of the waste. The Township shall not reimburse the hauler for any disposal or other additional costs not included in the bid. The contractor (successful bidder) will be paid under the contract awarded at the amount bid per ton of the contents of the container removed, hauled and disposed. Payment shall be made monthly, upon submission of the foregoing information and a properly completed voucher. No oral interpretations will be given to any bidder as to the meaning of the plans and specifications or any part thereof. Any request for such interpretations shall be made in writing via mail, email or fax to Michele Bobrowski, Township Administrator/Clerk, 242 Little York-Mt. Pleasant Road, Milford, NJ 08848, email: clerk@alexandrianj.gov, fax: 908-908-4196 and will be given if it is received at least 12 business days prior to the date scheduled for the opening of bids. Such interpretation, when made, shall be in the form of an addendum to the contract documents and will be distributed to any person who has submitted a bid or who has received a bid package in one of the following ways: 1) in writing by certified mail; 2) by certified facsimile transmission, meaning that the sender's facsimile machine produces a receipt showing the date and time of submission and that the transmission was successful; 3) via email provided bidder shall acknowledge receipt, or, as otherwise permitted by the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law. Bidders shall submit one (1) original and three (5) copies of the bid addressed to the Alexandria Township Committee, c/o Michele Bobrowski, Township Clerk/ and enclosed in the sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the project name on the outside. All bids must be accompanied by a noncollusion affidavit, together with all other documents required in the bid package. The standard proposal forms and non-collusion affidavit are attached to the specifications available from the Township Administrator/Clerk.
