Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mercer Island, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of Mercer Island is requesting pricing quotations for asphalt repairs. Work under this contract will consist of various repairs and may include pedestrian, bicycle paths and parks. Work will occur at various locations within the jurisdictional boundaries of Mercer Island, Washington. The purpose is to establish, through a competitive bidding process utilizing the MRSC Small Works Roster, a contractor to perform services at various locations within the City of Mercer Island, WA. A nonexclusive contract is to be awarded from this request. A. Summary of Work: Site visit is required to conduct on-site measurements to be considered a qualified bidder. Addresses will be provided upon request. Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, Certified WA State Flaggers, locates, equipment, miscellaneous tools and materials, and technical expertise to accomplish the described work. Contractor will saw cut identified asphalt defect margins up to 12 inches in depth. Root intrusions will be removed, and damaged asphalt in the area of repair will be removed and hauled out. Disposal of removed material or excess hot-mix, is the Contractor's responsibility and disposal expense. Base preparation will consist of Course 5/8 inch crushed rock, of adequate depth and include final grading and compaction. Asphalt installed will be (HMA Class B) at a minimum 3" in depth, but shall match the adjacent existing asphalt adjacent to the repairs up to 6" depth depending on location. Contractor will provide all needed traffic and pedestrian controls.All traffic control signs, necessary vehicles, equipment and certified flaggers with appropriate PPE's. Repairs will be sealed at the margins. Asphalt near, or including storm water catch basin boundaries, shall be properly graded to prevent standing water and facilitate efficient water flow into the basin. Performance / Payment Bond: The Contractor awarded the contract, at their sole expense, shall furnish a separate Performance Bond and Payment Bond each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, as set forth in the Sample Contract, included in EXHIBIT "B". Alternatively, pursuant to RCW 39.08.010, on contracts of fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000) or less, at the option of the Contractor, the City may, in lieu of the Performance and Payment Bond retain ten percent (10%) of the Contract amount.
