Renovation of a municipal facility in Suisun City, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and one-story above grade municipal facility.
The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1) Replace portions of the synthetic slate shingle roofing including repairing or replacing adjacent storefront windows, scuppers, wall claddings and flashings. a) Remove (1) existing synthetic slate shingles and underlayment as indicated, (2) existing copings as indicated, (3) existing scupper as indicated, (4) exterior cladding of woodframed parapets as indicated, (5) existing windows as indicated, (6) existing flashing assemblies as indicated, (7) existing roof vents as indicated and, (8) any other components required to execute the new work. Bidders must direct all questions about the meaning or intent of the bid documents to the City in writing via e-mail to Gemma Geluz at ggeluz@suisun.com. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the City in response to such questions will be posted on the Suisun City website. The deadline to submit questions b) Install new (1) synthetic slate shingles and underlayment, (2) interface with existing Spray Foam Roof, (3) copings and sheet metal flashings as indicated, (4) exterior cladding and trim with water resistive barrier and flexible flashings as indicated, (5) new scupper integrated with existing Spray Foam Roof and parapet, (6) new downspout extension, (7) new concrete window sills as indicated, (8) joint sealants as indicated, (9) painting of new cladding, trim, concrete and sheet metal, and (10) new windows as indicated. For bonding purposes, the Engineers Estimate is $165,000. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 et seq. of the Labor Code of California, the Director of Industrial Relations for the State of California has ascertained the current general prevailing rate of wages for employer purposes, in Solano County, State of California. In accordance with the State of California Administrative Code Title 8, Group 3, Article 2, Section 16109, Publication of Prevailing rates by Awarding Bodies, copies of the applicable determinations of the Director are on file at the Public Works Department of the City of Suisun City and may be reviewed upon request. If there is a difference between the minimum wage rates predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and the prevailing wage rates determined by the Department of Industrial Relations for similar classifications of labor, the Contractor and his subcontractors shall pay not less than the higher wage rate. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing rate of wages in the county in which the work is to be done has been determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations. These wage rates appear in the Department of Transportation publication entitled General Prevailing Wage Rates. Future effective wage rates, which have been predetermined and are on file with the Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in said publication. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A State of California contractor's license at the time the contract is awarded. (Note: A Class B contractor license is acceptable as long as 2 others are included, at least 1 possessing a Class A or C-8 License.) The successful bidder shall furnish a bid bond, a Faithful Performance Bond, Materials & Labor Bond and, when work is completed, a one -year warranty bond. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall possess a valid Suisun City business license prior to start of work. The Contractor shall comply with all Senate Bill 854 (SB 854). The City of Suisun City reserves the right to postpone the date and time for the opening of proposals at any time prior to the date and time announced in the advertisement. All proposals shall be valid for a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The City of Suisun City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any defects or informality in the bidding
