Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
All bids must include lump sum or unit prices to be considered for award by the Township at their option after review of the bid amounts. Question Deadline 10/14/2024 at 4:00 PM ET Deadline to submit Questions online. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the total price bid made payable to the Township. This project will be funded utilizing PennDOT Liquid Fuels Funds. All materials incorporated in the project must be accompanied by a CS-4171 Certificate of Compliance as per PennDOT Publication 408 (latest edition). No material can be incorporated into the project before the CS-4171 is provided. Project Description: This project includes the improvements to the existing storm drainage facilities within Lower Macungie Township. The work performed under this contract includes the replacement of approximately 1,206 LF of corrugated metal storm sewer pipe with HDPE pipe sizes varying from 15" to 36" diameter; 573 LF of corrugated metal storm sewer pipe with new CMP sizes varying from 15" to 15 x 20" elliptical pipe; removal, replacement and repair of storm sewer inlets, inlet tops, risers; and restoration of all associated curb and paving, etc. All construction will occur within Township and PennDOT rights-of-way and easement areas and will involve the restoration of pavement and unimproved areas and provisions for all erosion and sedimentation controls. The project is subject to the terms of the Public Works Employment Verification Act (Act 127 of 2012). Completed and signed "Public Works Employment Verification Form" is required as a precondition to the award of the Contract and is to be submitted as part of the submission of bid. All contracts between the Contractor and its subcontractors, and between all subcontractors and their respective sub-subcontractors shall contain information about the requirements of the Public Works Employment Verification Act (Act 127 of 2012). The bidder's attention is called to the fact that the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act applies to this Contract, if the estimated cost of the project is in excess of $25,000 and that the successful bidder shall pay no less than the wage rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate bonds with corporate surety issued by companies authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the prescribed forms dated the date of the Contract, or separate Federal or Commonwealth chartered lending institution irrevocable letters of credit in a form accepted and approved by the Township, or separate restrictive or escrow accounts with such lending institutions pursuant to an escrow agreement accepted and approved by the Township, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, to secure (a) the faithful performance and maintenance of the Contract; and (b) the prompt payment of materials and labor.
