Renovation of an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
University of California, Berkeley, sealed bids for a lump-sum contract are invited for the following work: CRP FY24 North Gate Hall Window Refurbishment DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Repair and maintenance of wood and steel windows. Select wood windows are to be replaced in-kind. North Gate Hall was designated a City of Berkeley Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed as the prime contractor, the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable projects with a construction value at award of $606,000 or greater, completed in the past seven (7) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. b. Submitted projects must have been constructed in an occupied building, or adjacent to an occupied building. c. At least one (1) project must have been a building listed on a city, regional, state or national historic registry. Illustrate what percentage of that work was attributed to your firm. d. At least one (1) project should consist of wood frame construction and one (1) masonry construction. e. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties (Defined as Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties, California). 2. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address,(c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award,(e) total Change Order value,(f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) describe how project is comparable to project being bid. 3. All projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Results posted at: online. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission oft he Bid: "B" - General Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
