Renovation of an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Clean Windows. Apply consolidates to the window bottom rails and where it is needed on exterior window jambs and sills; replace damaged window putty (high lead concentration); apply epoxy filler to repair the damaged wood; install dutchman and replacement members where needed: replace old sealant (asbestos containing) around all the perimeter of all the windows; stabilize loose and flaking paint (high lead concentration) and apply 100% acrylic paint to the exterior of all window frames including the window sills, the bottom of operable sash to the inside corners of the windows, and the window sashes in their entirety. Sand and Stain exterior side of all wood doors on the ground floor west and south elevations. There will be two phases. Phase 1 will be ~90% of the scope and phase 2 will be the remaining ~10%. Phase 1 can tentatively starts on 6/23/25 and to be completed in 60 days. Phase 2 can tentatively start on 07/07/25 and to be completed in 30 days. Phase 1 work and Phase 2 work can be done concurrently. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $385,000.00
