Renovation of a laboratory facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $2,500,000.00 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project consists of a renovation of existing physics labs on Level 2 of Birge Hall into a new configuration. No change to the permitted space use or occupancy is proposed. Renovations will include removal and reconfiguration of existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire-protection sprinklers, fire alarms, and low voltage infrastructure. The renovated lab spaces have tight temperature and humidity as well as acoustic and vibration requirements. The labs are physics laser labs. BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS: To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include: 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed as prime contractor, the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable dry laboratory projects, with a construction value of $2,500,000 or greater, completed in the past five (5) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. b. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties (Defined as Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties, California). 2. Documentation that the bidder's Project Manager and Superintendent have successfully completed a minimum of two (2) comparable projects in the past five (5) years that meet the criteria listed in 1a above. Provide resume with comparable projects listed. 3. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) describe how project is comparable to project being bid. 4. List all dry laboratory projects on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) the bidder has completed or currently working within the last 5 years, if any. 5. Must not have been assessed liquidated damages in excess of $5,000 on any UC Campus or National Lab (LBNL, LLNL) in the past five (5) years.
