Description

Renovation of a fire / police facility in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The proposal is to enhance the existing façade of the Department's Fire Headquarters to blend in with the modern streetscapes along Main Street. Fire Headquarters, also known as Station 1, was built in 1971. Until three years ago, the building has not had any infrastructure upgrades in over 50 years. The existing stucco is deteriorating and some of the metal trim in the front and along the side of the building is either missing or fallen off. The project would feature a decorative metal panel system to modernizing the appearance of the building. Incorporated into the plan would be new energy efficient overhead doors and windows. As of May 16, 2025, this project is included in the Town of Glastonbury's Fiscal Year 2026-2030 CIP. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been established. Funding is allotted for FY 2029. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
