As of August 14, 2025, this project has been awarded and the project is expected to start in September 2025. This project comprises a comprehensive upgrade to the existing landscaping, irrigation and planting infrastructure for the Downtown Area of the City of San Bruno. The Downtown Beautification project encompasses a range of technical specifications across various disciplines, including demolition, site preparation, landscaping, and infrastructure installation. The work includes clearing and grubbing, trenching and backfilling, asphalt and concrete paving, decomposed granite paving, site furnishing installation, planting irrigation, landscape soil preparation, and landscape planting, all to be executed according to the specified materials, standards, and quality control measures outlined in the provided technical specifications. The following key components will be addressed in the project however the Bidding Documents will contain the full description of the Work. A. Storm Water Pollution Prevention B. Demolition C. Clearing and Grubbing D. Trenching and Backfilling E. Landscape Maintenance F. Asphalt Paving G. Site Concrete H. Decomposed Granite Paving I. Site Furnishings J. Plant Irrigation K. Landscape Soil Preparation L. Landscape Planting All work under this contract shall be completed within 150 working days from the Notice to Proceed effective date. The City shall assess liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per Working Day for delays in completion of the project, as provided in the Contract Documents. The following are licenses that are required to bid on this contract: o California Class "A" General Engineering Contractor - required for earthwork, paving (asphalt and concrete), and underground utilities (irrigation) aspects of the project. o Landscaping Contractor (C-27) - required for the landscape installation, soil preparation, and planting irrigation. o Demolition Contractor (C-21) - required for the demolition work. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract.
