Reference Number 0000389546 The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit professional construction services for retaining wall repair along the trail in the Castle Creek Underpass. The goal of the project is to repair and replace one of the structural piles on the Castle Creek Bridge underpass retaining wall. The retaining wall has experienced deflection over time. A single pile has been identified for replacement. This work will ensure the safety of the travelling public along the adjacent trail. The project will include, but is not limited to: The City of Aspen is accepting Proposals from qualified Contractors and Geotechnical Professionals to provide planning and construction services in repairing the trail retaining wall underneath the Castle Creek Bridge. The project will include, but is not limited to: Reviewing and providing notes on the work methods recommended by Otak, Inc. Locating and securing utilities that pass under the bridge in the project area. Stabilization of the soil behind the retaining wall and removal of portions of the wall necessary for focused work on the displaced structural pile. Correcting and re-setting the structural pile in place. Reconstruction of the retaining wall and repair to the trail surface where necessary. Traffic control planning for this impactful trail closure during work.
