The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Resurfacing - work to include preparation of road surface which will include, but not be limited to, vegetation removal, sweeping, paving transition notch, correction of detrimental conditions, coordination of utility valve box/manhole adjustments; placement of tack coat; placement of 1 1/2 compacted bituminous concrete wearing course; adjustment of driveway aprons with bituminous material, sealing of all joints, seams, curbing and around inlets, manhole, etc.; and clean-up. 2. Base Repair - work to include mechanical cutting of road surface, excavation and disposal of deteriorated road base, compaction of subgrade and placement and compaction of bituminous concrete base course. 3. Milling - work to include variable depth milling (1 1/2 " - 3 1/2 ") of existing road surface. Disposal of material and clean-up. Caution to be exercised along existing curb line. Any damaged curb must be replaced. 4. Manhole Adjustments: (This item is incidental to the resurfacing) - Manhole castings to be adjusted, raised or lowered, to match new paving surface. Any casting with existing riser rings shall have the riser rings removed and adjusted with brick and mortar. Use of adjustment rings is prohibited. 5. Line Striping - (This item is incidental to the resurfacing) line striping shall be completed using a water-borne traffic paint meeting PADOT specifications. Project Location: various locations throughout the Township of Nether Providence, PA Major items include 4,810 square yards of milling, 850 square yards of base/trench repair and 460 tons of wearing course. Question Deadline 07/10/2025 at 2:00 PM ET Location online portal. A bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid, made payable to Nether Providence Township must accompany each bid. Attention of Bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in the bid package, particularly to the PA Prevailing Wage Rates, Public Works Employment Verification, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirements for a payment bond and performance bond for 100% of the contract price and a one-year maintenance bond for 10% of the contract price. Nether Providence Township reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids thereof, and waive any information in the bidding, as they deem are in the best interest of the Township.
