Tracy Hartman Town Clerk Goals: 1) Prepare road for 24' wide pavement with a 2 foot 1' 3/4 " dense grade base shoulder. All work to be done within existing footprint. 2) All work and materials are to meet the requirements of these specifications and WI DOT Specifications (2022 edition) and WI DOT Special Provisions Performance Based Maintenance 2023. Proposed work: 1) Traffic Control: Road Closed Local Traffic Only. Any required flagging operations supplied by contractor. 3) Added dense graded base before pulverizing: a) 24 tons per 100' station at 24' wide at a nominal 3" depth. b) Shape and compact prior to pulverizing. c) Make sure edge of pavement on both sides of existing pavement is exposed for pulverizing. d) WisDOT 3/4 " or 1 1/4" Dense Grade Base is acceptable. 4) Pulverizing Contractor is responsible to verify depth of existing asphalt for Hixon Lake Road pulverize the full depth of the existing asphaltic pavement and added dense grade base until 97 percent or more will pass the 1 1/2-inch sieve. Pulverizing shall be minimum of 24' wide. Contractor is responsible for traffic control, road closure notifications, any detours and obtaining any permits. Pulverized material will be graded, watered, compacted at .05"to finished grade for HMA pavement. 5) Hot Mix Asphalt product, hauled and placed in accordance to WisDOT Specifications. a) One lift 2.5" of 4LT or better PG58-28S oil. b) Shaping for pavement is incidental to HMA paving. c) Saw cutting and installation of HMA driveways and side roads are incidental to HMA paving unit price. 6) Gravel Shoulders a) Material to meet WisDOT Specification for 3/4 " Dense Grade Base. b) Both shoulders should be 2' wide with a nominal depth of 2.5". c) Shoulder shall be place with a shouldering machine. d) Installation of gravel driveways and side roads are incidental to shouldering unit price. 7. Remove and re-install mailboxes as needed to accommodate the construction process while allowing for mail delivery during construction. Payment: Payment will be based on unit prices listed in the Bidding Proposal Schedule. Payments will not exceed total for each bid item.
