Shade Sail Replacement Project The JCSD Parks & Recreation Department is currently responsible for providing recreation programs, services, and events; managing over 250 acres of parkland, including 15 parks, a 30,000 square foot Community Center, a 5,000 square foot Activity Center; a 2.5-acre special event venue; graffiti abatement for the cities of Eastvale and Jurupa Valley; and maintaining over 4 million square feet of frontage and median landscaping. Site Review and Measurements o Visit each site to conduct field measurements and condition assessments of existing shade sails and associated hardware. o Verify and document the number, size, attachment points, and configuration of each shade sail to ensure proper replacement fit. 2. Fabrication/Procurement o Supply and install new shade sails based on verified field measurements. Shade sails shall be fabricated using Colourshade FR fabric or an approved equal. o Match the existing color(s) of the shade sails being replaced to maintain consistency. o Include UV-rated, commercial-grade materials suitable for outdoor playground use. 3. Removal and Installation o Safely remove existing shade sails identified for replacement. o Inspect and replace any worn or damaged hardware (e.g., turnbuckles, shackles, cables) to ensure secure installation. o Install newly provided shade sails using industry-standard tensioning and installation practices. o Ensure all installations are taut, secure, and visually aligned. 4. Safety and Access Control o Maintain safe work zones by securing the work area with proper barricades, signage, and access control to prevent public entry during work hours. o Adhere to all OSHA and JCSD safety requirements. 5. Cleanup and Final Inspection o Perform full cleanup of each job site upon completion, including removal of debris, old materials, and tools.
