A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Reference Number 0000397126 The section of E-470 which is the subject of the Project was originally constructed in 2002/2003 and consists of two lanes in each direction and interchanges at I-70, 56th Avenue, 64th Avenue, Pena Boulevard, 96th Avenue, and 104th Avenue. The Authority recently completed a traffic and revenue study that predicted the highway would experience level of service ("LOS") D congestion in this area by 2029. The Authority has therefore decided to add a third lane to maintain a high level of service to E-470 customers. The Project will result in the addition of a third lane in both directions for the 6-mile section of the highway between 104th Avenue and US-85. Fourteen (14) bridges will be widened to the ultimate four (4) lane configuration including crossings at I-76/UPRR and US-85/BNSF RR. Grading and drainage for the Project will be constructed to accommodate the ultimate eight (8) lane configuration of the highway. The existing pavement will be overlaid. The anticipated CM/GC Contract start date is approximately December 16, 2025. The Authority's construction cost estimate is approximately One Hundred Thirty-Five Million Dollars ($135,000,000.00) excluding the possible (optional) Project inclusions listed above. Design efforts began in May 2025. Final design for LLTP packages and/or phased construction packages is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025 thru mid-2026.
