The work consists of installation of 650 linear feet of 6-inch plastic gas main via horizontal directional drilling beneath the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to extend the existing gas main on the south side of the highway to the existing gas main on the north side of the highway. The remaining trenched gas main and connection to existing gas mains will be completed by others. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis with an allowance for police for traffic control as indicated in the Bid Form. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract. Question Deadline 10/10/2025 In order to receive consideration, questions must be received by Engineer at least five days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. The Work includes the following major items: a. Completion of items 5-11 of the application requirements of attachment C in section 00800 to complete the MassDOT State Highway Access Permit and receive authorization to proceed. b. Approximately 650 linear feet of new 6-inch high-density plastic gas main installed by horizontal directional drilling. c. Surface restoration including loam and seed.
