Bidder will work with the city procuring parts, materials and road repair. The City will review submitted bids and other relevant information (cost, best value for the municipality, subjective considerations) regarding the products to which the City wishes to purchase. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any response for any or no reason and to waive any minor irregularity if determined to be in the best interest of the City of Greenville. Individuals or companies submitting paperwork as part of the bid selection process understand, by their submission, the above evaluation process. The "Total Amount Proposed" cost shall be valid for a minimum of 60 days after the bid opening date and prospective vendors will be held to the price presented. Awarded bidder must complete scope of work in a timely manner. The City of Greenville will accept bids for the replacement of seven (7) known lead service lines at various locations in the city. The awarded bidder will be responsible for the following; o Provide a notification and scheduling letter to the residents to schedule the service line change out o Responsible for site safety o Required to coordinate with the Department of Public Services as to when services will be interrupted o Responsible for miss digs, excavation, boring and or pulling in new service line o Responsible for a new water tap into the watermain where applicable and determined by DPS o Required to cut and cap old service tap where applicable o Required to run new service line into the house to reconnect before the meter horn where applicable o Required to install a water curb stop in the right of way where applicable and determined by DPS o Required to coordinate with DPS a leak and connection inspection prior to backfilling o Required to backfill with topsoil and seed the disturbed earth between the road and house were applicable. o Required to backfill and compact around and on top of water service with sand up to one (1) foot from top of road grade, finishing backfill with road gravel to top grade and for a smooth pass over by traffic o Required to coordinate with DPS for road closures and detours o Required to have services turned back on and operational prior to completion. The Greenville Department of Public Services will coordinate and provide the awarded bidder with sand, gravel, and service line materials. Road repaving will be done by DPS. No sales tax may be added to the bid price, as the City of Greenville is sales tax exempt. Any shipping costs for merchandise must be paid by the vendor, as part of the bid amount proposed.
