Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade playground / park / athletic field.
The general scope ofservices shall include improvements to the existing site to increase all-inclusive and accessible recreational use for the City of Springfield, with special attention to the memorial, site access, site amenities, fencing, signage and landscaping. The City of Springfield has an approved schematic design that will be developed into construction documents as an integral scope component. The general scope of services shall also include, if needed, the necessary permitting and coordination with other interested parties for the Development ofHungry Hill Veterans Memorial Park. Additionally, the design and engineering shall meet current Massachusetts and ADA compliance regulations. Survey will be provided by the City of Springfield. Basic Services specifically include, but are not limited to, landscape architecture, cost estimating, and permitting (if needed). The preparation of construction documents; bidding and administering of the Construction Contract Documents and other design and consulting services incidental but required to fulfill the project goals and construction administration services, are also a part ofthis Designer RFP and considered a part ofthe Basic Services. The Designer/Engineer will be required to include in their Basic Services, an estimate of all reimbursable expenses and this should be included in the Designers price proposal. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received in writing by the Office of Procurement by November 4, 2025 at 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com). The project is for Public Works Design or Engineering services focused on the development of Hungry Hill Veterans Memorial Park. The City is seeking qualified persons or firms capable of providing these services, which shall include designer services through schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, award of construction contract(s), construction administration, final closeout and warranty period of the potential project. The contract will follow a MGL Ch. 30B RFP model procurement approach as determined by the City. The estimated total construction cost is approximately $245,000, including designer services, subject to approval and scope agreed upon by the City. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. The City supports a goal of twenty percent MWBE participation in all contracts. All questions regarding the bid or its specifications must be submitted in writing to the Office of Procurement by the specified deadline.
