The scope of work entails the removal of 42 trees, of various size diameters, at 34 addresses across the City of Rahway. The project includes the removal of the trees listed and the grinding of all stumps flush with the existing ground. Restoration of the disturbed area shall be accomplished with topsoil. Proposals must be made on the standard Proposal forms in the manner designated in the Contract documents. Three sets of documents, one original and two certified copies, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder and the name of the project on the outside and be addressed to the City of Rahway and must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and either a Bid Bond or a Certified Check drawn to the order of “City of Rahway” for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check shall not exceed $20,000. The successful bidder is required to provide a performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of the project. Proposals for this contract will only be accepted from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Owner, except as to those items which are deemed mandatory and non-waivable. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The successful bidder is required to comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, which include but are not limited to the affirmative action requirements and public disclosure provisions.
