Voters face $99.3M school bond on Feb. ballot for campus upgrades After years of community engagement and study of its buildings, the Port Townsend School Board is asking the community to vote in support of a bond dedicated to campus improvements. That ask will appear as Proposition 1 – Bonds to Renovate Aging Schools and Improve Safety on the Feb. 10 ballot. The proposition is for bonds up to $99.3 million “for construction improvements and additions to the Port Townsend High School and renovating the Gael Stuart Building as the new OCEAN K-12 Alternative School,” according to the district. As of January 13, 2026,this project is in design. Information regarding the architect and general contractor selection has not been disclosed.
