Site work for a water / sewer project in Granger, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construct Southeast Lift Station including all labor, material and equipment to construct a two pump submersible lift station, electrical, control, site work and associated improvements and miscellaneous associated work, including cleanup. The project is located in the 13300 block of NW 102nd Avenue in Granger, Iowa. Each proposal shall be made out on a blank form furnished by the municipality and must be accompanied in a sealed envelope by either (1) a certified or cashier's check drawn on a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, or (2) a bid bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, in the penal sum of ten percent (10%) of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor, and shall guarantee the work against faulty workmanship and materials for a period of four (4) years after its completion and acceptance by the City Council. The work shall commence within ten (10) days after written Notice to Proceed and shall be completed by December 15, 2026. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for each day the project is not completed after December 15, 2026. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid. 1.1 Furnish and install two identical submersible non-clog explosion proof wastewater pumps installed in wet well of pumping station as shown on plans and specified hereinafter. 1.2 Furnish three complete copies of manufacturer's operation and maintenance manuals for pumps and controls. 1.3 Pumps, controls, hatches and rail system to be furnished by same supplier. 1.4 Manufacturer: Flygt (no substitutions allowed). 1.1 This section describes painting and protective coatings of exterior and interior surfaces, equipment and piping. 1.2 Painting, as used herein, includes application of paints, enamels, fillers, stains, varnishes, sealers, or other coatings required for use as prime, intermediate or finish coats, as specified herein under painting schedule. 1.3 Unless specifically specified elsewhere, following surfaces are not to be painted. 1.3.1 Pipe, conduit and ducts in concealed spaces or buried. 1.3.2 Stainless steel and aluminum surfaces except as noted otherwise hereinafter. 1.3.3 Glass, vitreous enamel and chrome plated items. 1.3.4 Brass, bronze and copper. 1.3.5 Rubber, plastic and fiberglass. 1.3.6 Conduit and ducts on unpainted surfaces. 1.3.7 Concrete floors. 1.3.8 Interior concrete channels. 1.3.9 Interior and exterior surfaces of precast concrete walls and ceilings. 1.3.10 Concrete. A. Variable Frequency Controllers: Enclosed controllers suitable for operating the indicated loads, in conformance with requirements of NEMA ICS 7. Select unspecified features and options in accordance with NEMA ICS 3.1. 1. Employ microprocessor-based inverter logic isolated from power circuits. 2. Employ pulse-width-modulated inverter system. 3. Design for ability to operate controller with motor disconnected from output. 4. Design to attempt five automatic restarts following fault condition before locking out and requiring manual restart. 5. 4-Mode Starting: Current Limit, Torque Ramp, Current Ramp, Voltage Ramp. 6. 4-Mode Stopping: Free-wheel, Torque Ramp, Time Ramp, Dynamic Brake. B. Enclosures: Provide drive mounted in a NEMA 1 enclosure. C. Finish: Manufacturer's standard enamel. A. Furnishing, installing, testing and startup of pumping station control and motor starters. Control system involves control and monitoring of a 2-pump lift station. B. A complete and operational lift station control panel shall be supplied. System and devices shall be furnished as needed to be fully operational as described herein, and as otherwise required for operation and Code compliance. Control, monitoring and alarms shall be in full compliment to pumps, instrumentation and other equipment provided for this project. C. Wiring and devices provided for control of equipment shall be provided to comply substantially with schematic diagrams, other project drawings, and the descriptions contained herein. Alterations to the schematic diagrams as mutually agreed between panel manufacturer's designers and the Engineer will be allowed. A. This Specification and the accompanying drawings govern the work involved in furnishing, installing, testing and placing into satisfactory operation the Electrical Systems as shown on the drawings and specified herein. B. Contractor shall provide all new materials as indicated in the schedules on the drawings, and/or in the project specifications, and all items required to make the Electrical System a finished and working system. C. Description of Systems 1. Complete electrical power system including panelboards, load centers, transformers, motors, disconnects, starters, receptacles, raceway, wiring, ect. 2. Complete electrical lighting system including fixtures, lamps, ballasts, battery backups, switches, controls, raceway, wiring, ect. 3. Complete grounding system. 4. Complete power distribution, controls, wiring, ect, for non-electrical equipment supplied for the project (i.e. mechanical or process equipment and the like). D. Work and Materials by Others 1. None
