Site work and paving for a road / highway in Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The improvement includes removals, drilling and doweling, furnishing, placing, curing, sawing, sealing Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement full-depth patches of various thickness, and other incidental items, all in accordance with the contract documents including Plan File No. 679-054/095 at the following locations in Des Moines, Iowa: SW 6th Street from McKinley Avenue to Emma Avenue; SW 7th Street from Payton Avenue to Porter Avenue; SE 25th Court from Vale Street to Onawa Street; E 26th Street from Maple Street to University Avenue; E 39th Street from E Sheridan Avenue to Hull Avenue; E 41st Street from Boyd Street to Morton Avenue; Brook Ridge Court from Brook View Avenue to E Douglas Avenue; E Emma Avenue from South Union Street to SE 3rd Street; E Diehl Avenue from South Union Street to SE 5th Street; Dixon Street from South Entrance of 1800 Dixon Street to Thompson Avenue; Lyon Street from E 6th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue; E Madison Avenue from E 14th Street to E 16th Street; E Park Avenue from SE 14th Street to SE 17th Street; Park Plaza Drive from Willowmere Drive to Park Avenue; South Union Street from McKinley Avenue to Park Avenue; Summit Vista Drive from SW 31st Street to dead end west; E Washington Avenue from E 17th Street to Dixon Street. This project shall be fully completed not later than September 15, 2027, and in accordance with the Completion Provisions. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as specified by the Jurisdiction. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The bidder should not include sales tax in the bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be available for all material purchased for incorporation in the project. DBE/TSB Program: Annual and Contract Goals - The City's overall annual DBE/TSB goal will be based on the IDOT DBE overall annual goal established for the corresponding federal fiscal year as further adjusted and established by the Engineering Department to consider such factors as the current capacity of DBEs/TSBs to perform work, differences in the DBE versus TSB market, etc. By utilizing the IDOT overall annual DBE goal as the City's overall annual DBE/TSB goal, the goal will be independently reviewed annually and updated regarding the availability of the DBEs that are ready, willing, and able to perform work. Many DBEs are also certified as TSBs and the availability is similar. The City's overall annual DBE/TSB goal represents a target that the City would like to achieve by including DBE/TSB participation on City contracts; and is not a mandatory goal for this project. The Bidder is encouraged to use its best efforts to meet, and if possible, exceed the City's overall annual DBE/TSB goal.
