Sealed bids are requested for the Seminole Valley Barn Stabilization as requested by the City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department. Bids must be submitted electronically through the City's Online E-Procurement portal system (Euna Procurement, powered by IonWave), and other forms of submittal such as email, fax, or hard copy are not acceptable. Suppliers are responsible for properly submitting their responses into the electronic system, and the City is not responsible for any delays or errors in submittal. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, but may not be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after closing. The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors to stabilize and preserve the structural integrity of the livestock barn at Seminole Valley Farm for the Parks & Recreation Department at 1400 Seminole Valley Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. This is a historically significant area that has served as a cultural landmark in the Cedar Rapids community for more than 100 years. Contractor shall have Historic Preservation experience as required for the project. 2.2 Contractor shall address urgent stabilization needs to prevent the barn from collapse. 2.3 Contractor shall work with City staff when selecting stabilization measures. 2.4 Stabilization measures may include (but not limited to): 2.4.1 Reinforcing/replacing compromised foundations 2.4.2 Bracing load-bearing elements 2.4.3 Repairing roof and walls to prevent water infiltration 2.4.4 Bracing frame walls to prevent collapse 2.4.5 Replacing rotted sill beams 2.4.6 Sistering compromised support posts and beams 2.5 Stabilization measures shall be prioritized based on available funding. The City's project manager shall provide sign off on project prioritization. 2.6 Temporary bracing or materials may be installed to prevent collapse and/or water infiltration.
