The Monterey County Office of Education will receive sealed bids for the award of a contract to construct the MCOE TIP Program at La Joya School Project BID 26-003, as per the Contract Documents, including the drawings and specifications. Contractors must register through the Owner's online portal to access project details, download bid documents, and submit bids. The Owner reserves the right to add or deduct any of the additive or deductive items after determining the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The contract time is 275 calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay will accrue. A contractor or subcontractor is not qualified to submit a bid or be listed in a bid proposal unless currently registered and qualified under the relevant Labor Code section to perform public work. Bids must be submitted electronically. A mandatory bid walk and pre-bid conference will be held at the project site. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least 10% of the base bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each for 100% of the Contract Sum. The successful bidder may substitute securities or establish an escrow in lieu of retainage, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300. Only licensed contractors (Class "A" or "B") are eligible, and all licensing must be in good standing through completion and warranty periods. No hard copies or faxed bids will be accepted.
