New construction of a theater / auditorium in Salinas, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a theater / auditorium.
The work consists of constructing the New Performing Arts Studio Building at Monte Bella Elementary School as per the contract documents, including drawings and specifications. Sealed bids are required and must be submitted by the designated date and time. The lowest bid will be determined by the base bid amount. Mandatory requirements include compliance with prevailing wage rates, proof of public works contractor registration for projects exceeding $25,000, and the listing of subcontractor registration numbers if they perform more than 0.5% of the total bid. A bidder's bond, cashier's check, or certified check for at least 10% of the base bid is required with the bid submission. A mandatory pre-bid site visit must be attended. The successful bidder must provide a Payment Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, both equal to 100% of the contract sum. Substitution of securities or establishment of escrow in lieu of retainage is allowed as per Public Contract Code Section 22300. Only contractors licensed in California with a Class 'B' license at the time of award, and who maintain it in good standing through contract completion and warranty periods, will be considered. The construction of performing arts studio, single-story building and associated site work as indicated in the drawings & specifications.
