Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 0-square-foot, 0-story below grade power facility; and 0-square-foot, 0-story below grade power facility.
This project will centralize diesel generation through the procurement and installation of 2 x 1.25MVA Diesel Generators, with future growth for 4 Diesel Generators as load increases. The project includes installation of motorized breakers at the main switchgear and installation of microgrid controls to expand the existing switchgear and controls. Project includes a 300 kW PV installation, and 3.5MVA of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), fencing as well as civil work for the site. The microgrid controller will respond to demand response requests from the utility as well as providing emergency power in the event of an outage. Contractors will be required to actively hold all required security clearance(s) at the time of closing, as further detailed in the tender documents.
