Sealed bids will be accepted for the removal and replacement of the existing Smith & Loveless Pista Grit System with a new Retrofit 5th Gen PISTA-Invorsor System. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Forms provided, accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent of the total bid. A performance and payment bond, as well as proof of worker's compensation insurance, will be required from the successful bidder. Compliance with the prevailing hourly rate of wages, as determined by the Federal Wage Determination and/or the Industrial Commission of Missouri, Annual Wage Order #32 and amendments, is required. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after opening. The Joint Sewer Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and determine the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. As a condition of award for any contract exceeding $5,000, successful bidders must provide a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program for employees working on the contracted services, and affirm they do not knowingly employ unauthorized aliens. Contractors or subcontractors must require all on-site employees to complete an OSHA-approved (or state-approved equivalent) ten-hour construction safety and health training course within sixty days of project commencement. Employees found without required training documentation will have twenty days to produce it. The contractor must ensure its employees are lawfully eligible to work in the United States.
