Demolition and site work for a retail development in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 30,400-square-foot, four-story above grade retail development.

Sealed bids are invited for asbestos abatement, demolition, and site clearance of the former Royer's department store. The project consists of demolition and site clearance of a four-story former commercial department store building, approximately 30,400 square feet with building dimensions of approximately 89' wide by 96' deep by 71' high. Asbestos abatement includes 200 square feet of transite shingles; 250 square feet of pipe insulation; 800 square feet of 9x9 brown floor tile and mastic; 800 square feet of black floor tile and mastic; 800 square feet of corkboard ceiling; 250 linear feet of brown cove base moulding and mastic; 10,000 square feet of top roofing and 150 square feet of lower roofing; and 6 linear feet of flue pipe. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the project site at 114 South Main Street, City of Greensburg. Hard copies of specification documents will be available for viewing at that time, and electronic copies will be provided at no charge to those who attend. Bidders are required to submit a certified check, bank draft, negotiable U.S. Government bonds, or a satisfactory bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the estimated cost. The successful bidder must furnish and pay for satisfactory performance, payment, and maintenance bonds. The project is regulated under Executive Order 11246 Equal Employment Opportunity and related contract specifications. The project is funded in whole or in part with federal and state funds, and federal and state requirements apply. The Redevelopment Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or parts of proposals and to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held for up to sixty (60) days from the opening date for review and investigation of bidder qualifications before awarding the contract.
