The project consists of, but is not limited to, replacing the water trough and seal plate in Boiler #3 at the Power Plant. Bids will be received for a stipulated sum. Iowa Construction Sales Tax Exemption Certificates will be provided. Bidders may obtain bidding documents from Rapids Reproductions, Inc., 6201 Chancellor Drive, Cedar Falls, IA 50613, 319-277-5538. All bidders are asked to return their Bidding Documents within fifteen (15) days after the opening of bids. Each bid must be submitted electronically through www.bidexpress.com with an uploaded copy of the bid security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages, which the Owner will sustain by failure, neglect, or refusal of the bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after the date of opening. There is a participation goal of 10% for certified Targeted Small Businesses as specified in the Special Conditions. By statutory authority, preference is given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. The Iowa Board of Regents reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities, and to accept the bid deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
