Renovation of an educational facility in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Contract Documents are intended to identify one complete project. The divisions and sections of the specifications, identifications of any drawing or naming of any subcontractor is not intended to delineate work performed by any specific trade. The CONSTRUCTOR shall be responsible for assignment of work. The work is further defined as 1) Selective demolition of existing membrane roofing systems including adhered and ballasted. Included removal and disposal of membrane, coverboard, insulation and associated assemblies. Stone pavers are to be retained and turned over the Owner. 2) Demolition of existing wood walkway and disconnect and capping of existing conduit. 3) Replacement of roof insulation, tapered insulation, gypsum coverboard and adhered KEE PVC Fleeceback membrane. All layers adhered unless otherwise noted. Assembly must meet approved FM VSH (very severe hail) assembly. 4) Installation of surface mounted stair system. 5) Replacement of metal copings, roof edges and flashings/counterflashing's. 6) Temporary removal and re-installation of surface mounted guard rail system and storm warning system. 7) Temporary disconnection and support of rooftop equipment and utilities to the extent required to install new roof assembly. This project has a participation goal for certified Targeted Small Businesses. The participation goal of 10% is specified in the Special Conditions. Remove existing rock ballast and EPDM membrane, remove existing insulation and applicable metal copings and flashing. Adhere new insulation, adhere new coverboard, install new KEE membrane and metal copings and flashing. Remove existing wooden walkway and patch back as required. See plans and specifications for other miscellaneous items. Each bid shall be submitted electronically with an uploaded copy of the bid security as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents or furnish the required 100% Contract Performance and Payment Bond within ten days after receipt of Notice of Award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five calendar days after the date of opening. The project has a participation goal for certified Targeted Small Businesses. The participation goal of 10% is specified in the Special Conditions. A preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
