In general, the work of this project consists of improvements to the Florence Township Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The Florence Township WTP is located at 236 W 6th Street, Florence Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. The improvements proposed at the plant include the installation of pressurized iron and manganese filtration system with GreenSand+ media, the installation of a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) adsorption system for removal of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination, and a complete filter backwash wastewater handling and discharge system. The upgrades shall be installed with all process and potable water and sanitary piping, valves, and appurtenances, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and connections to the existing system. The improvements shall also include the construction of a new CMU masonry building, and all associated structural improvements necessary to support the structures.
