Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and pipeline.

This project consists of replacing the two existing elliptical pipes under Waterloo Road with a Conspan type concrete culvert/tunnel. The two pipes on the private property to the south will be removed as part of the project. Project will include replacement of concrete curb, concrete sidewalk, utility relocation/repairs (water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, gas main and electric/communications), asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, drive aprons and creek realignment. City of Akron Local Goal: 18% EDGE/DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE (minimum 3% WBE) All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Except as provided in Section 102.07 of the City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 5% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Proposals may be held by City for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days after the date Proposals are opened for the purpose of reviewing the Proposals and investigating the qualifications of Proposers prior to awarding the Agreement. Except as provided in Section 34.09 of the City's Code of Ordinance, the Proposer to whom the Agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price for the faithful performance of the contract. The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until Final Completion of the Project. The Director of Public Service reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities.
