The Mercer County Housing Authority is accepting bids for Installing roughly 156 Linear Feet of aluminum fencing at a mid-rise apt. building. The job location is at Francis J. Fornelli Manor housing complex on Linden St. Sharon, Pa. 16146. The contractors should be advised that prior to the award of any contract, Mercer County Housing Authority reserves the right to conduct a pre-award survey for the purpose of determining the bidders responsible and responsive capacity to fulfil the contract. This survey may include debarment searches, financial capacity, and quality of work performed on other contracts. General Work Scope: This work is to install roughly 156 Linear feet of aluminum fencing along the property line at a mid-rise apartment building. It is a commercial grade aluminum fence from GreatFence.com with aluminum posts. The fence panels are black satin 6'x5' and the posts are black satin 3"x3" cemented in the ground below the frost line. This fence will be installed roughly 2'-6" from the curb along the west side of the parking lot, along the back of the parking spaces of our neighboring property and stop at the corner of another house that belongs to the Housing Authority. The Housing Authority owns all 3 properties this fence will be installed on. Fornelli Manor, 77 Euclid Ave., and 101 Euclid Ave. An installation manual from the manufacturer will be provided in this work scope. Addressed to: John Miller c/o Mercer County Housing Authority 80 Jefferson Ave Sharon, Pa. 16146 The existing wooden fence that was in the location of the new fence has already been removed. The posts that supported the old fence have been cut flush with grade. When planning the layout of the new fence 4 of the existing posts will need to be removed to make way for the new posts. Request 811 to locate any underground cables or pipelines. Minimum of 12" diameter holes for the new posts that will be excavated to 42" deep. The posts are pre-punched for the fence panels and will need to be at the correct height to connect the 6'wide x 5' high fence panel. Any additional height of the post will be cut off the bottom on-site. Install roughly 28 aluminum fence posts with post caps and 156' of aluminum fence panels. Cement posts in ground with 4000psi concrete mix. Follow the manufacturers recommended installation guide supplied with this IFB. Caution off any dangerous work areas to protect pedestrians from potential injuries and keep a clean work area. 10. The timeline to complete this project is 30 days from the notice to proceed. 11. Clean off any concrete splatter or dirt on the new fence prior to final inspection. 12. The contractor is responsible for supplying all materials needed to complete this work. 13. IFB is not reliable for ordering materials, the contractor is to take their own measurements. 14. There is a copy of an estimate from GreatFence.com that describes the specifications of the materials needed for this project.
