The Mercer County Housing Authority is accepting bids for painting an exterior porch, fire escape staircase, handrails, lattice, and steps. This work is to prime and paint exterior framing, handrails, steps, and decking at 77 Euclid Ave Sharon, Pa. 16146. There are roughly 50 linear feet of handrails around the perimeter of the flat roof, 18 step staircase with handrails on both sides, a 5'x4' deck with handrails, 7 steps to the basement, and lattice around the bottom of an enclosed porch. The contractor will need to prepare these areas for painting, prime them, and apply two coats of paint. The bidder further accepts all the terms and conditions of HUD forms 5369, 5369A, and 5370. The existing treated steps, handrails, and deck were built in 2023. 2. There are 18 steps going up to the flat roof on the back of this property with handrails going around the perimeter of the flat roof roughly 50' Linear Feet. A small 5'x4' deck, exterior steps going down to the basement, and lattice around the bottom of an enclosed porch. 3. Clean and prepare all specified areas for new paint. 4. Prime all bare wood with a quality exterior primer. Framing, posts, decking, handrails, and lattice. (Valspar multi-purpose primer) 5. Apply two coats of grey paint on decking and stair treads. (Valspar Duramax exterior paint plus primer satin) Earl Grey HGSW7660 6. Apply two coats of white paint on framing, handrails, lattice, and stair risers. (Valspar Duramax exterior paint plus primer semi-gloss) Ultra White 7006_24 7. The exterior stairs to the basement, treads and risers painted Earl Grey. Paint the handrail white to the basement. 8. Examine the existing conditions prior to beginning the work and document any damage. 9. Keep a clean work area. The contractor will be responsible for removing any overspray or paint on anything not specified to get new paint. 10. The contractor is responsible for supplying all materials needed to complete this work. 11. Standard pay rates apply. 12. The timeline for this project is 14 days from the notice to proceed, (weather pending) The contractors should be advised that prior to the award of any contract, Mercer County Housing Authority reserves the right to conduct a pre-award survey for the purpose of determining the bidders responsible and responsive capacity to fulfil the contract. This survey may include debarment searches, financial capacity, and quality of work performed on other contracts.
