**As of July 11, 2025, the project was awarded to Laufenberg Electric, with an awarded amount of $96,398.54.** Vernon County received funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to purchase and install emergency backup power generators at critical facilities in Vernon County. The Vernon County Buildings and Facilities Department is requesting proposals from qualified, licensed electricians (herein referred to as "Proposer") to purchase and install a new industrial diesel engine-driven generator in the parking lot of the Courthouse/Annex Building located at 400 Courthouse Square, Viroqua, WI 54665. This generator provides emergency backup power to the Vernon County Courthouse/Annex Building and the Vernon County Banta Building. The Annex Building is connected as an addition to the Courthouse. Vernon County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities, and to award the contract to the Proposer who presents a proposal most advantageous to the County. Vernon County may reject any proposal not in compliance with all prescribed public contracting procedures and requirements and may reject all proposals upon finding that it is in the public interest to do so. Vernon County received the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant which is funding this project. The grant performance period is May 30, 2025 - July 30, 2026. Therefore, the Proposer has until June 30, 2026, to complete the project. Identified tasks/key deliverables for the project include the following: a. Advisory to the County Staff Project Team b. Remove the current generator and turn it over to Vernon County. c. Install a new 200 kW diesel engine-driven generator, set with turbocharges/aftercooled 6-cylinder 8.7L engine (or equivalent to the current generator), on the existing pad. d. Install a new 800A service transfer switch in place of the existing switch. e. This generator has a secondary transfer switch located in the Banta building that works in conjunction with the main transfer switch located in the Courthouse/Annex Building. This will also need to be replaced. f. Provide power to the buildings during the exchange of equipment. g. Terminate wiring and test. h. Onsite training i. Obtain necessary permits.
