**As of October 22, 2025, the project was awarded to Laufenberg Electric, with an awarded amount of $188,529.95** Vernon County received funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to purchase and install an emergency backup power generator at Vernon Acres, an assisted living facility located at 1319 Bad Axe Court, Viroqua, WI 54665. The Vernon County Buildings and Facilities Department are requesting proposals from qualified, licensed electricians (herein referred to as "Proposer") to purchase and install a new industrial diesel engine-driven generator at this facility. Vernon County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities, and to award the contract to the Proposer who presents a proposal most advantageous to the County. Vernon County may reject any proposal not in compliance with all prescribed public contracting procedures and requirements and may reject all proposals upon finding that it is in the public interest to do so. The generator will be placed in previously disturbed ground atop a new concrete pad. The fuel tank will be installed at the base of the generator. In addition to the new 200 kW industrial diesel engine-driven generator set with turbocharges/aftercooled 6-cylinder 8.7L engine, a new 1600A service transfer switch will be installed next to existing service disconnect. A new remote annunciator and e-stop pushbutton will also be installed. Conduit and conductors will be provided and installed, as necessary, and the system will be tested. Security fencing, or barriers, will not be installed as part of this proposal. The County will provide a perimeter fence, if needed. a. Advisory to the County Staff Project Team b.
