Site work and paving for a civil project in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade road / highway; and one-story above grade water / sewer project.
The project consists of furnishing all material and constructing approximately 2,900 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer replacement, 300 feet of 12-inch watermain replacement, and 2,250 feet of HMA roadway reconstruction. The work also includes incidental storm sewer removal and replacement, maintenance of traffic, wastewater bypass pumping, dewatering, verification of existing sanitary lateral status, and restoration. The contractor is required to furnish all material, equipment, labor, and supervision necessary to complete the specified work. The contractor must also coordinate all traffic control and work with MDOT due to an overlapping project on Martin Luther King Drive from Highland Ave to Main Street. Bids must be sealed. Contract documents may be examined online or at specified offices, and bidding documents are accessible only to active members of the Prein&Newhof Plan Room. Hard copy documents may be purchased for specified fees. A bid bond, certified check, or cashiers check payable to Benton Charter Township in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price must accompany each bid, binding the bidder for 90 days. The project shall be substantially complete within 165 days of starting construction. Contractors must comply with funding and wage rate requirements as specified.
