Site work and paving for a road / highway in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The general nature of the work includes 4,489 SY of partial depth pavement patching, 4,830 SY of full depth pavement patching, 21,500 SY of diamond grinding, 298 STA of painted pavement markings, 375 SY of PCC Median Edge, and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances, in accordance with the contract documents. Project includes a Milestone 1 completion date requiring all work along 10th St, N 10th St, and 29th Ave to be completed by the specified date. Final topsoil and seeding work may be completed later, within the fall 2026 seeding window. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per calendar day will be assessed for late completion of Milestone 1, and a Milestone 1 completion incentive applies, with a maximum payment of $10,000. Project work is to begin after a specified start date and be completed within 70 working days, with damages of $1,000 per working day for delays. Bids must be filed in accordance with plans and specifications on file, and contractors must request official bidding documents from the Public Works Department to be added to the plan holders list. Only those on the plan holders list will receive addenda. Additional sets of documents and those requested by parties other than qualified general contractors and subcontractors are subject to a $20.00 fee and shipping charges. Bidding documents obtained from sources other than the Public Works Department may be incomplete. Reproduction without express permission is prohibited.
