Renovation of a medical facility in Hartford, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
A replacement operator viewing window is to be provided and installed in CT Room 142B, Building 1 at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. The work requires supplying and installing a single-pane X-ray viewing window measuring 4 feet by 8 feet, 1/4 -inch (7 mm) thick, with 1/16-inch (1.6 mmpb) lead equivalency, non-safety-rated X-ray glass. The contractor must remove and properly dispose of the existing glass, reuse the existing window frame and side stops, and install the new lead-equivalent glass without disturbing surrounding walls. All damages caused by the contractor must be repaired, and all construction debris must be removed using contractor-provided dumpsters, sealed dump carts, and HEPA carts as required. The contractor must comply with infection control measures meeting ICRA Class III, Group 2, Type C, maintain required egress routes under NFPA 101, and coordinate closely with VA personnel throughout performance. A site investigation is required before bidding to verify conditions and measurements, coordinated through VA Facilities Management Services and the COR. Installation must conform to applicable VA design manuals, FGI Guidelines, ADA, Joint Commission Standards, ANSI, SMACNA, IBC, NEC, NFPA, and other governing requirements. Submittals for lead-lined glass specifications and installation plans must be approved prior to work. VA personnel will remove and reinstall CT-related equipment and countertops to allow installation access. Temporary egress and life-safety signage, as well as any required interim life safety measures, must be provided and coordinated by the contractor. All deliverables and records produced under the contract become the property of the U.S. Government, and the contractor must comply with all federal privacy, security, and records-management requirements, including protection of any incidental exposure to protected health information and prohibition on unauthorized creation or retention of government records. No documents may be disposed of without contracting officer approval. The installation itself is expected to be completed in a single business day within a 180-day period of performance. The contractor must coordinate scheduling with the VA Imaging Center, providing at least 45 days' notice to accommodate patient scheduling. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with weekend work allowed if coordinated at least 48 hours in advance.
