Box 372, Hartford, VT 05047 (mailing address) 807 Maple Street, White River Jct., VT (physical address) The Hartford Cemetery Association is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the renovation of the entranceway of Hartford Cemetery, located at 807 Maple Street (Route 14), White River Jct., Vermont. This project involves removing and replacing existing pavement, retaining walls, and guardrails to improve access, safety, and aesthetics to the cemetery grounds The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Work Includes: - Demolition/Removal: o Removal and legal disposal of old asphalt pavement. o Removal of old base material and preparation for new base installation. o Removal of approximately 220 feet of existing stone retaining wall on the east side of the entrance. o Removal of old guardrail on the west side of the entrance -Construction/Installation: o Installation of compacted, properly engineered base layer with frost mat suitable for new pavement and consistent with Town of Hartford Street Spec. o Installation of new retaining wall (design to be proposed by contractor). o Installation of guardrail on west side of entrance (used guardrail is acceptable if structurally sound and meets safety standards). o Installation of new asphalt pavement suitable for vehicular traffic. Contractors may submit alternate wall and guardrail designs/materials for consideration provided they meet functional and aesthetic standards appropriate for a historic cemetery
